The Bronx Leadership Scholarship at The Erasmus Collegiate Institute

The Bronx Leadership Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship designed to benefit young men and women who have a proven record of academic excellence and who have demonstrated leadership skills within their schools and local community. This scholarship program is designed to give qualified students a chance to strengthen their writing skills, have enriching conversations with fellow students from across the United States and experience college level classes with the hope of helping those students become future leaders in their local community.

Scholarship Amount: Full tuition

Eligibility:

• Enrollment as a high school junior or senior in a Bronx community school
• A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Evidence of active involvement in extracurricular activities, clubs and organizations in a leadership capacity
• Record of good personal conduct
• Motivation to pursue college degree
• Financial Need

Please send in two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher and one from a community leader, coach etc.) highlighting your leadership experience and skills.

All requests postmarked by the July 1st deadline will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified of awards by July 10th, 2009
